This article aims to describe the process of collaborative workshop creation of the Exhibition Women Warriors with residents of the community of Cantagalo, Pavão and Pavãozinho, active participants of Favela Museum. For this, it uses a dialogue to engage with Pier Paolo Pasolini's notion of a pedagogical language of things in conjunction with the methodology of participatory design. Residents and researchers involved through lectures and practical workshops have built data in which visual signs of local identity are developed. The data have shown that the active participation of the locals for construction of a proper language turns them into potential multipliers of local activities. This emphasizes their knowledge of the material culture of the community involved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
