The paper on "Cooperative Frozen Section Surgery" by Daniel Gross and Lawrence Field, published in the October 1, 1987 issue of the "Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology," provides wide ranging material for an editorial. In their paper, they discuss a means for an office-based cutaneous surgeon, who is not a Mohs micrographic surgeon, to verify the margins of an excision prior to a flap repair. Gross and Field comment that the surgical expertise of dermatologists is increasing. In fact, during the last decade there has been an explosion of interest in cutaneous surgery. |
