Abstrakt: Discusses the role of carbon monoxide (CO) in glutamate receptor-induced dilation of newborn pig pial arterioles. Inhibition of dilation to glutamate and to specific glutamate receptor agonists upon heme oxygenase inhibition; Decrease in dilation with tin protoporphyrin; Production of CO on the removal of cerebral microvessels from the brain.
