Optical Fano Resonance in MIM Waveguides with a Double Splits Ring Resonator.

Abstrakt: Plasmonic waveguides with a double splits ring resonator (DSRR) are investigated numerically. It behaves like a two resonant cavities and results in a new modes. We report a comparison between the behavior of DSRR and a crescent shaped split-ring resonator in order to understand the nature of resonant peaks. The tuning of resonant modes by adjusting the geometrical parameters gives rise to a Fano resonance. Moreover, the sensing characteristics are evaluated with the sensitivity and the figure of merit (FOM). The Fano responses with good sensitivity and FOM are performed. The structure paves a new way toward nano-integrated plasmonic devices, especially optical switching and sensing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
