Abstrakt:	The authors comment on an article which focused on the socialisation and professionalisation structures and processes within the pre-professional medical education. Topics covered include the interconnections between health professional schools and pre-professional institutions, the barriers to acceptance into a medical school, and the need for medical education and professional practice scholars to add the pre-med realm to their traditional focus on medical school and residency training.
