Abstrakt: This article is devoted to the study of an important indicator of the efficiency of carbon-carbon composite materials of the Uglekon type, namely, their tightness. The interval characteristics were established for the thickness of a pyrocarbon coating on a slip sublayer of a bearing base of the Uglekon material, which is one of the main design parameters because it provides the tightness and, thus, the efficiency of the whole composition under the extreme conditions of high-temperature and chemical impact of aggressive media. In addition, the influence of temperature loads on the tightness was studied. The research results were fully confirmed by testing of the developed compositions in real structures operating under the tough conditions of increased pressures, high temperatures, and corrosive media, which showed that long-term efficiency in terms of tightness is provided.
