Abstrakt: The article presents review of literature related to dermatology. According to the article "Malignant Melanoma in Situ on the Sole of the Foot: Its Clinical and Histopathologic Characteristics," by T. Saida, it is well known that thin malignant melanomas (MM) rarely metastasize. Thus, early diagnosis is crucial. In non-Caucasians the majority of MMs occur in volar and subungual sites, the sole of the foot being the most common location. Greater than 60% of MMs in Blacks and approximately 30% of those occurring in Japanese are located in this anatomic site. Because of delays in diagnosis, many of these lesions are far advanced when finally recognized and thus the prognosis is poor. In addition to that, the article presents various other information.
