Examines the trends in the management of blunt liver trauma in a tertiary referral center dealing with both adults and children over a 10-year period. Administration of a retrospective case note review on consecutive patients with blunt liver trauma; Collection of data related to the referring source, severity of liver injury, initial and subsequent management and outcome; Confirmation that the majority of patients with blunt liver trauma can be treated successfully without surgery. |
