Reports on the audit of the surgical site infections (SSIs) of class 1 total knee replacement procedures conducted at Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah. Recommendation for 1-gram dose of cephazolin or ceftriaxone 2 hours before the procedure; Analysis of tourniquet inflation of limb; Impact of correct timing of antibiotic administration on SSIs; Recommendation to administer a top-up dose of antibiotic when surgery exceeds 4 hours. |
