Abstrakt: The article discusses the diagnosis and treatment of summer mastitis among cows. It mentions the clinical signs and symptoms of summer mastitis, which include a swollen, painful teat or quarter and foul smelling yellow secretions wherein the milk becomes watery. It adds that treatment of summer mastitis entails for the cow to be milked out and be given an intra-mammary infusion of antibiotic and should be infused directly into the infected gland.
