Abstrakt: Objective: We tested the acceptability and usability of a tailored, Web-based smoking cessation program for vocational students, Project Quit Texas (PQT). Methods: Overall, 149 smokers from 16 post-secondary vocational programs were randomized to PQT or a non-tailored, Web-based program, Clearing the Air (CA). We measured "acceptability" by program relevance, satisfaction, helpfulness, and likeability. We measured "usability" by the amount of time on the program. Results: PQT participants reported higher personalization, a component of program relevance, and they spent more time on the program than CA participants, but there were no other group differences. Conclusion: Despite few group differences, higher scores on personalization coupled with more time spent on the program may lead to greater cessation success for PQT participants, but studies are needed to test its efficacy in smoking cessation.
