Abstrakt: Theatre for Development (TfD) initiates understanding and contributes towards transforming people's lives by encouraging them to share ideas and act collectively. It is intended to be inclusive, regardless of race, age, colour and disability. Having said that, Theatre for Development groups in Zambia tend to apply topdown approaches which compromise the principles on which TfD is based. The article looks at how TfD is conducted and offers suggestions as to how it could be refined, based on its founding principles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
