Abstrakt:	The article considers the reforming of the Odessa military district in the 70-ies of the XIX century. It is proved that it had a varied character. The author analyzes the positive and negative features of the implemented reforms by D. Milyutin in the Ukrainian lands within the boundaries of the Odessa district. It is researched the influence of transformations on the state of military-district system during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 and the further improvement of the Russian army.
