Abstrakt: The article looks at the effort of more than a thousand New Zealand women during World War I, helping wounded New Zealand soldiers without pay in return. It highlights the helping behavior of the New Zealand War Contingent Association (NZWCA), a nonprofit organization which consisted of New Zealand civilians who made their job to look after New Zealand soldiers in Great Britain.
