Studies on efficacy of bio-pesticides against brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee on brinjal was carried out during 2011. The results on efficacy of bio-pesticides showed that in terms of shoot infestation, quinalphos 25 EC 2000 ml/h, spinosad 45 SC @ 0.1 ml/l, neem oil 1% + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h, azadirachtin 300 ppm + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h were found superior followed by NSKE 5 % + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h, neem oil 1%, azadirachtin 300 ppm, NSKE 5%, Bt. var. kurstaki (Delfin) 750 g/ha, Bt. var. kurstaki (Delfin) 500 g/ha and Beauveria brassiana @ 2 kg/ha. The percent shoot infestation was minimum (04.00%) in quinalphos 25 EC 2000 ml/h followed by spinosad 45 SC @ 0.1 ml/l (05.31%) and neem oil 1% + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h (07.07%) followed by azadirachtin 300 ppm + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h (07.57%) and NSKE 5 % + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h (07.91%). In terms of percent fruit infestation (number basis and weight basis), quinalphos 25 EC 2000 ml/h was highly effective followed by spinosad 45 SC @ 0.1 ml/l, neem oil 1% + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h and azadirachtin 300 ppm + quinalphos 25 EC 1000 ml/h. However, incremental cost benefit ratio was highest in quinalphos 25 EC 2000 ml/h followed by azadirachtin 300 ppm, Bt. var. kurstaki (Delfin) 500 g/ha, NSKE 5%, neem oil 1% and Beauveria brassiana @ 2 kg/ha.
