Airborne magnetic surveys aims to measure the variations in the Earth magnetic field representing the local differences in the magnetization of the subsurface soils and rocks using aircrafts. However, magnetic data can suffer from some random/dynamic shifts due to ON/OFF electric transitions in any of the aircraft electrical instruments such as air conditioners. These ON/OFF shifts/effects must be cancelled before any further interpretation for the magnetic data. In this paper, a cancellation algorithm is proposed to remove any ON/OFF effects in the magnetic data while recovering the original data to its normal trend. The new algorithm is tested against real magnetic measurements with various transition effects. The results show the ability of the proposed algorithm to precisely specify the portion of the data that suffers from ON/OFF shifts and to recover the magnetic data at this portion.
