Abstrakt: The article provides information about housing in the up-and-coming neighborhoods in Indianapolis, Indiana, those just on the verge of being the next hot areas, and those that real-estate insiders have been keeping secret. If the houses in a neighborhood spell out its history, one of the city's best reads is Arden, the area just south of Park Tudor and buffered by Meridian Hills and Holliday Park. The resulting mix of eclectic architectural styles, plus the now-mature trees and oft-seen wildlife, combine to create a style and charm that's sadly absent in current suburban developments. Indianapolis architect Evans Woollen, best known for creating Clowes Hall and downtown's federal building, designed several of Dean Road's contemporary style homes, which stand side-by-side with period-revival houses representing Federalist, Greek Revival and Southern Colonial styles.
