Abstrakt: The Polish government has fortified a newly created technology agency with some $100 million in leftover funds from its 1990 science budget. The Foundation for Polish Science (FPS) was established to stimulate technology transfer activities. Part of the budget will be awarded as grants for technology-related projects that FPS deems as having social value. The foundation also intends to introduce loans to encourage technology transfer so that the Polish science industry will be able to produce comprehensive development plans.
