Abstrakt: Examines the effects of altitude exposure on running economy (RE) in elite distance runners. Hypothesis that RE would be improved after both natural moderate [live moderate-train moderate (LMTM)] and simulated altitude (LHTL); Assessment of RE during submaximal treadmill runs; Conclusion that 20 days of LHTL at simulated altitude improved the RE of elite distance runners.
