In this contribution we focus on the development of land use changes in two vineyard villages - Rybník and Čajkov. Selected villages have very old vineyard tradition. Until now the traditional agricultural landscape (TAL) is fragmentary preserved here. They are localized in the Middle-Hron river region (Slovakia). The aim of this article is to evaluate and compare changes of secondary landscape structure (SLS) in two time periods (1949-1986 and 1986-2016). Processes of maps visualization were done in ArcGIS 10.2. The biggest changes we observed in agriculture, related to the change of political system in Slovakia after 1948. The most significant trend in land use changes was in the period 1949 - 1986. It was intensification of agriculture that involved merging of almost all area of small-block fields into large-block fields. In the second observed period (1986-2016), the main trend of land use changes was reforestation. It was related to collapse of socialism and transformation of agriculture too. In comparison with previous period we identified much smaller land use changes. The result of our study is identification of landscape development trends, which are an important basis for planning sustainable development of the villages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
