Abstrakt: Palatal fi stula is acommmuuinplicat ion seini in posttreatmentcases of cleft pal ate which maybe asymptomatic or may produce problems like nasal regurgitation of fluids, nasal twang in speech. Depending upon die size of defect it may treated with local advancement of the flaps such as palatal or buccal flaps, if the defect is Luge it is difficult to close by local flaps. Because of the anatomical significance tongue provides a suitable and convenient source of larger flap. Anteriorly based tongue flap is safe and effective meth odforclosuie of I aiger fistula in thepalate without any morbidity at the donor site. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
