The paper presents the analysis o f results o f professional self-assessment o f first year interns in the specialty "general practice - family medicine" in comparison with the reference assessment o f their professional competencies by the teachers o f the family medicine department. Specific problems in the method o f mastering such skills as ECG interpretation, CPR, breast examination, ophthalmoscopy, otoscopy and neurological examination o f the patient were identified, this allowed to develop recommendations fo r further training o f interns by correspondence in the internship.
