Abstrakt: The problem of illicit antiquities trafficking represents a violation of the "Right to Culture" of humanity, which is deprived of access to the knowledge contained in our common cultural heritage. However, this right cannot be enforced at the moment, due to the underdeveloped character of cultural human rights category. Therefore, only if and when the Right to Culture in itself is legally recognized, only then the human dignity embodied in culture will be granted constitutional importance with a respective system of guarantees, duties and responsibilities. The recognition of the Right to Culture is seen as a destination point of the gradual inside-out transformation of society and its individuals. The "Value Education and Peace through Culture" vision of Nicholas Roerich represents path-setting examples of true human development, based on the inculcation of universal values into the minds and hearts of people. The elevation of culture to the level of an inalienable right of every human being and humanity as a whole will guarantee not only the proper protection of cultural heritage, but will also lead to peace in the world and defend our right to be called human.
