Abstrakt: A biography of the First Nations poet Louise Bernice Halfe is presented. She was born Sky Dancer in 1953 in Two Hills, Alberta on the Saddle Lake Reserve and sent to residential school when she was seven. After earning her degree in social work at the University of Regina, she began writing poetry and published her first book "Bear Bones & Feathers" in 1994. While working to preserve Cree culture, Halfe also incorporated Cree life and symbolism in her poetry.
