This paper is based on a study, which focuses on the value of large-scale (offshore) wind power from a market perspective. The study was performed by KEMA by order of Shell, Nuon and E-connection and co-sponsored by We@Sea. The objective of the study was to create more transparency in the costs and value components of the wind power price and the impact of this power source on the electricity wholesale market. As a result, developers, investors and portfolio managers are given new insights in the financial risks of wind power. In the scope of this paper, not all price components which have been analyzed are included. Instead, a selection of the most important price drivers has been made. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
