The article discusses the cases of patients with autoimmune thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) concomitant with human herpes virus 8 (HHV8)-related multicentric Castleman disease (MCD). Topics discussed include the symptoms of TTP which is a thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), HIV infection in TMA/MCD patients, and the management of the patient through therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) in combination with steroids. |
