The article focuses on Chilaiditi sign, interposition of gas-filled colon between the liver and right hemidiaphragm. Topics discussed include discovered incidentally on chest or abdomen radiographs, predisposing factors such as redundant colon, chronic lung disease and absence of normal suspensory ligaments of the transverse colon, and Chilaiditi syndrome with symptoms such as vomiting, constipation and pain accompanying colonic interposition. |
