Abstrakt: Sodium and potassium uranates with the compositions M[(UO)O(OH)] · 8Н (M = Na, K) have been synthesized by reacting schoepite (UO · 2.25HO) with aqueous sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide solutions (pH 10-12) under hydrothermal conditions at 100°C for 15 days. Chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry data demonstrate that these compounds are perfect compositional and crystallographic analogs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
