Abstrakt: Characterization of mRNA populations associated with the translational machinery (translatome) is shedding light on the molecular mechanisms of plant environmental responses. The work presented by Meteignier et al. (2017) describes how selective changes in translation modulate the transition from growth to defense responses in Arabidopsis, revealing new similarities between plant and animal immunity.
