Abstrakt: | The article examines the religious language of "Narratio de Imagineedessena," a sermon commissioned by Byzantine emperor Constantine VII to explain the history and significance of one of the most famous pieces of visual religious rhetoric in the medieval Middle East. It looks the religious language used by the writer and its importance to the inhabitants of Constantinople. It also examines the scriptural references and allusions which show Constantine VII's political thinking during his rule. |
