The article presents information about all that is there in store for actors this summers. Summer stock has a long and happy history in theatre in the U.S. as a training ground where actors can learn their craft on the job while creating fondly bucolic memories. 10 writers from the periodical Back Stage spoke with a representative geographical cross-section of 24 summer theatres, all musical theatres to university affiliated homes to the classics— to see what kind of work they're doing, what sort of facilities they have, who their audiences are and what opportunities they offer for actors, musicians, directors, technicians, interns, apprentices and more. |
