The article is questioned with the possibility of dialogue between the reader and the literary text from the standpoint of philosophical hermeneutics as the ability of the subjects of communication to influence one another. The author insists on the fact that traditional perception of a dialogue between the work and recipient (as a one– sided interpretation of the author's meaning), contradicts philosophical hermeneutics, since the dialogue does not appear as a conversation, but as a lecture. It is noted that in this issue philosophy can use the achievements of literary criticism, especially the Reader-response theory, which in moderate form is represented by the works of V. Iser, G.-R. Jauss and L. M. Rosenblatt, since this theory asserts the equivalence of the author, the work and the reader. The paradigm of active reader from the Reader- response theory marks existence of a literary work as the unity of author's meaning and recipient's reception. The recipient is able to influence author as an imaginary reader, supplement the content of work with his own interpretations, and change tradition of reading and interpreting the work.
