The article offers information on a research on regulation of immune responses to protein therapeutics by transplacental induction of T cell tolerance. Topics discussed include antigen-specific immune tolerance in patients with genetic deficiencies; transplacental transfer of maternal immunoglobulins to fetuses through neonatal Fc receptor; and promoting generation of both thymic and peripheral antigen-specific regulatory T cells. |
