Abstrakt: The article presents a research investigating how long-acting integrase inhibitor GSK1265744 protects female macaques from repeated high-dose intravaginal simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV). It mentions that GSK1265744 acts as an effective preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) agent in a low-dose intrarectal SHIV. It concludes that GSK744 LA treatment protected six of eight in Depo-Provera–treated female rhesus macaques against three high-dose SHIV.
