The article offers information on the harm caused by benzodiazepines to dementia patients, and discusses studies conducted for the same. Topics include symptoms such as physical aggression and sleep disturbances in dementia patients which are causing distress among patient's families and caregivers, risk of pneumonia among patients diagnosed Alzheimer disease, and safety announcement issued by the US Food and Drug Administration related to the use of benzodiazepines. |
