This article presents a case report of a 36-year-old woman, who was employed in the food department of a large store for the last 5 years. Her main occupation was to refill the shelves in the department with new articles and to label the prices of these by means of a special machine. The patient, who was lefthanded, had suffered from a moderate dermatitis of the back of her right hand and left hand. The dermatitis had improved during weekends and holidays. Patch tests with standard substances were positive to formaldehyde, while patch tests with the front and back of the price labels were negative. The price labels were examined for the content of formaldehyde and the analysis was positive. |
