Abstrakt: When temperature-sensitive materials are welded, decisive significance is attached not only to the proper welding procedure but also to the cooling behaviour of the components, above all in the temperature range between 800°C and 500°C (t8/5 value). The heat input into the component changes depending on the welding procedure and a wide variety of welding parameters as well as on the weld geometry, the welding position and the build-up sequence too. This not only alters the efficiency of the process but also influences the cooling behaviour by more than 60%. In the article, those methods of determining and calculating the welding productivity which are utilised in practice were analysed and their respective error potentials determined. Deviations of up to 70% from the real value were recorded in this respect. Proposals for adjusting applicable sets of standards were formulated on the basis of the results obtained in the investigations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
