This article justifies the perspective vision of establishment of a new hegemony in international relations in the XXI century: unipolar world, with the existence of a single global hegemon (the USA or China); bipolar world, with two equally powerful claimants for global hegemony, which anticipates the formation of antagonistic blocs in the struggle for global domination; multipolar world of states - in which the international system is composed of several poles, which will be formed around the major powers and regional power centers; multipolar world of organizations - in which the key positions will be held by international organizations, which will serve as a forum for resolving of global issues. Applied methods: historical, methods of analysis, synthesis, prognostic and descriptive method. The main conclusion: change in the nature of security environment and the global balance of power in the late 20th - early 21st century is the determining factor that will influence further development of hegemony in international relations.
