Abstrakt: The rapid advancement of cloud computing has brought forth the issue of security associated with mobile cloud technology. Mobile cloud is experiencing challenges and obstacles in many forms which may include data replication, data consistency, scalability, lack of standardization, trust, privacy and security. However, despite the importance of the issue in both academia and industry, the assessment of the research productivity about the scientific global production is still not found in the literature. The scarcity in this type of information related to mobile cloud security research creates the need for a systematic global analysis which rather than individual studies, allows exploring the intellectual core and some properties of the research stream. The objective of this paper is to characterize the publication activity of mobile cloud security by data collected from the Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation Index databases from ISI Web of Science during 2000 to 2016. It provides insights into the research activities in this field and identifies patterns, tendencies, or regularities existing in the literature related to authors, journals, institutes, and countries. Results show that mobile cloud security literature has a positive growth rate, and it is likely to continue with this tendency in the future. However, the analysis shows the need for more security measures and discussion on the issue would only continue to increase as the applications of cloud computing becomes more prevalent and widespread. The lists provided within this study would act as guidance for future researchers to seek information, knowledge and policies while allowing for better decision making process. Furthermore, several suggestions have been made in order for this particular field of study to have more enhanced literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
