Abstrakt: A biography of Anthony Overton, a black businessmen in early 20th-century, is presented. He was born in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1864 and was the first entrepreneur to win the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's (NAACP) Spingarn Medal. Overton was a major contributor in the female-oriented beauty industry. He established "The Half-Century Magazine" to attract African American female buyers.
