The article reports on the mutual adjustments to learning from and responding to transfer student writers in universities. Discussed are the first-year writing courses in universities which are founded on three assumptions such as the first-year composition (FYC) courses should be part of the students general education; FYC courses provide students with common learning experience to support their academic writings in other courses and FYC offers a foundation in building upper level-writing. |
