Abstrakt: This article discusses a case of a 35 year-old woman who began using the Estraderm 0.05 estradiol transdermal patch system. She applied a new patch to a variable truncal skin site twice a week. Within 2 weeks, she began to experience pruritus, redness, edema and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation at each new application site. All cutaneous findings resolved within 2 weeks after discontinuing the transdermal patches. Her past medical history was significant for an oophorohysterectomy for endometriosis, anxiety and depression, and allergic contact dermatitis from neomycin and balsam of Peru.
