| Abstrakt: | The article reports that airline fatal accident figures increased in 2016 compared with the previous year and discusses how security threats pose a growing risk to civil aviation. FlightGlobal Ascend's director Paul Hayes predicts that a zero fatal accident rate is within plausible reach of the world's airlines. It adds that the European Aviation Safety Agency has published a consultation document proposing heightened medical surveillance of airline pilots. |
