Abstrakt: The article discusses the influence of North American monsoon and its contribution to the total annual precipitation for agriculture and water resources in the region. It highlights the expanded all-weather, high-time-resolution GPS networks with surface meteorology throughout the southwestern United States and Mexico. The GPS networks offer opportunities for improved understanding of the North American monsoon convection and weather forecasting of hazards from organized convective events.
