Abstrakt: The present work shows the development of an actuation system of a robotic arm through surface electromyography (sEMG). The control strategy used is based on threshold analysis, which was present in the first electromyography (EMG) prostheses. The EMG signals are acquired through a conditioning system, which is composed by acquisition, filtering and isolation. The data are sent to a data acquisition board and are utilized in the software called LABVIEWTM. The greatest advantage of this system is that the configuration is done thoroughly in LABVIEWTM , granting the system flexibility and a fast way to reconfigure the settings. By using this method, there is a decrease in time spent creating and updating actuation routines. The robot's actuation is done by two algorithms based on the response of the sEMG signal from b?ceps brachii. Lastly, the developed work may be applied in basics electromechanical actuation systems using sEMG. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
