| Abstrakt: |
The author reflects on several health issues related with cleft lip and palate and the prevention and treatment available for them. The author mentions the etiology of orofacial clefts and its being a common congenital anomaly caused by interactions between genetic and environmental factors. She adds that food fortification particularly with folic acid can be beneficial in protecting oneself from cleft palate. |
