Abstrakt: The article focuses on the case of a 66 year-old man with a one year history of facial dermatitis. Diffuse brown pigmentation was present on the neck and submandibular region around the right earlobe. Soon after using a cotton pillowcase, he felt slight itching around his ear and facial pigmentation subsequently developed over several months. Histological examination showed slight antropy of the epidermis and liquefaction degeneration of the basal cells. Patch tests with original cotton pillowcase and napthol, used as a coupling agent for dyeing the pillowcase, showed positive reactions.
