The article discusses research which compared the preoperative audiometric measures with the intra-operative findings in the ears with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) to determine value of preoperative audiometric evaluation in predicting the presence or absence of an ossicular chain (OC) pathology. Topics discussed include the demographics of the study subjects, the mobility of the OC, and the impact of OC discontinuity on audiogram. |
