The article describes a technique that enhances the safety of pedicle tunneling during flap inset in head and neck reconstruction. Particular focus is given to the drawbacks of a two-finger width tunnel method. Tactile feedback is cited as a key step in preventing pedicle compression and vascular compromise. Also mentioned are the use of facelift scissors in performing the initial dissection and blunt dissection for the adequate release of constricting bands. |
