Abstrakt:	The article examines the runes and transmission of the Exeter Book "Riddle 19". It discusses the challenge in deciphering the riddle, the argument that the runes within the text have been interpolations, the metrical problem wherein the runica do not fit into the alliteration in a systematic pattern, and the use of the runic words to inform on the transmission of the riddle.
